What is one thing you learned from your parents about money?
My parents always tell me to be really practical. Make sure you’re stable. Pay off your house first. That sort of stuff.
Do you follow that advice?
Yeah. I mean, I like to splurge. But they like to splurge on little luxuries, too, and they’re pretty good with money. They always tell me to take care of important things first, and don’t overspend your budget. Don’t live paycheck to paycheck. And it seems to have worked for them pretty well. And always choose practical professions that are in high demand, like being a doctor or something.
What kind of work do you do?
I’m a nanny right now, since I’m only 18. And I work at a food place. But I’m thinking of going into nursing. At the same time, I feel like so many people are doing that. There’s always old people though, so I figure we’ll always need nurses.
