Do you think the American economic system is fair?
Honestly, I don’t think it’s very fair for all people. There are certain disadvantages within the system; even though it may seem like it’s fair for everyone and everybody can do everything and get a job and get paid fairly, underneath all that there are a lot of deep-rooted issues in the American system as a whole. They keep people in the most qualified jobs for themselves; that doesn’t necessarily include someone who lives in a low economic status that can’t get the resources to go to college or school to become a doctor (versus someone who has that at their disposal). Maybe the economic system has an idea centered around being fair for everyone, but the systematic issues make is not as fair.

Within that, do you feel like we are seeing a lot of these instances play out day to day?
Yes, with all the things that are happening now, a lot of these issues come up and [are] trying to be talked about more in the media.

What are you studying, and what do you want to do with that?
Psychology. I want to get my Ph.D. and become a clinical child psychologist and work for disadvantaged populations. Usually, kids don’t have the resources, so I can give them free services for their mental health and also work with a nonprofit to help them find the resources to get an education and have successful lives.
