What financial topic do you wish you had known more about?
I wish I knew more about saving in general, [and] about bills and CD accounts. Sometimes, if you get a load of money from a family member—like if they pass away—you end up blowing it. When you get a refund check, you get a lot of money and they don’t tell you that you have to pay that money back. I wish younger people knew that you can save it for later.
This program called Junior Achievement came to me around the fifth grade, and they touch on subjects like filling out checks. It comes at you from an early age, so you end up forgetting a lot of it. I think they should have a lot more for high school students; it would be a lot better for them to have that at that age.
